Readers recommend: anti-Christmas songs
The Guardian
Sod seasons greetings. Forget festive cheer. We want songs that shout 'Bah humbug!'

Just to be clear: we've done Christmas songs, back in 2005. So this year, rather than reheating festive favourites like a greying plate of leftover turkey, let's raise a glass of mulled wine to the songs that would really rather the whole yuletide thing just disappeared.
Christmas starts earlier each year, doesn't it? It seems October is now considered a reasonable time to put the lights up and for shops to set out festive displays. Don't know about you, but I'm sick of it already. Quite frankly, bah! And humbug.
So for our last Readers Recommend of the year, let's pour cold water on the forthcoming festivities. Your best suggestions will be published here on Thursday 15 December.
The toolbox:
* Listen to others' suggestions and add yours to a collaborative Spotify playlist
* Guide to "donds", "zedded", and other strange words used by RR regulars (courtesy of the Marconium)
* The Marconium (blog containing a wealth of data on RR, including a list of all the "zedded" songs)
* The 'Spill (blog for the RR community)
Please do:
* Post your nominations before midday on Tuesday if you wish them to be considered.
* Write a few lines advocating the merits of your choices.
But please don't:
* Post more than one third of the lyrics of any song.
* Dump lists of nominations. If you must post more than two or three at once, please attempt to justify your choices.
