During her recent performance at St Luke's in London, Irish singer-songwriter
Sinéad O’Connor proved that she has
lost none of her amazing talent.
To coincide with a series of live dates and the release of a new single,
Sinéad performed her song 4th and Vine exclusively for Telegraph.co.uk.
The song, taken from Sinéad's ninth album How About I Be Me (And You Be
You)?, tells the story of a bride who is preparing for her wedding. She is
looking forward to dressing up in a pink dress, and doing her hair up tight so
she looks nice when she walks down the aisle to marry her man. And, in her
excitement she dreams about being "happy for all time" with him.
4th And Vine is the second single to be taken from the album, and the
latest release in a career spanning 25 years and millions of record sales
worldwide,
How About I Be Me (And You Be You)? is thought to be one of Sinéad's
best and most confident pieces of work so far. It features raw and passionate
songs about love and loss, hope and regret, pain and redemption, anger and
justice.
