Britain's largest Christmas tree is illuminated by star trails and decorated for the season at Wakehurst Place in West Sussex, which is the country estate of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. The tree stands 35 m tall and is lit with 1800 lights from advent until twelfth night. It can be seen for miles around and from the air by pilots flying into nearby Gatwick Airport.
